First Time Great Grandma

Well, I finally can calm down enuf to write about my beautiful new Great Grandson,  Jesse James...yep that is his name and he is named after both of his Grandpas....Jesse on Dad's Side and James on mom's side.

My oldest grandaughter, Kaitlyn and her hubby Juan have presented me and the rest of the family with this little bundle of joy...here are Mom and Dad!

This little guy was so anxious to meet his family that he showed himself in all his ultra sound pix.  First a pic of his cute little face............................

Then a pic of his "big" little foot pressing on Mom's belly, just anxious to get out......................................
Isn't that the craziest thing?  I love it...it looked like he was going to have humungous feet but in all actuality they were just normal size...for a baby that is.  LOL!  I love baby feet, and have always been known to nibble on a few baby toes...LOL!..

Here are Jesse's little feet after a couple of weeks.

This little guy made a huge (wet) impression on his daddy right after a bath.........................................
Sorry about the sideways pic, but I guess I forgot to rotate it when I resized it...
(crazy old lady trying to be all techy)....LOL!.......................

Here is a better pic of Daddy and Son......................................

Since I'm showing off pix of the family, here is Great Uncle Tom, Great Aunt Kim, and Grandma posing with Mom and Jesse in the front yard.......................................................................

Here is a close up of the new Grandma and her precious little Grand Baby...................................

Well, I have a pic of little Jesse's future with his ever so ardent Anaheim Angels baseball fan, Daddy,
he even has binkies with the Angels logo...LOL!
Sure hope he can throw a fast pitch to Daddy..........

Well, as I'm sure you realize I could go on forever with the pictures just like you always see the jokes about people with new babies, to show off...

I will show a laugh, one of my favs.......................................
Now, I want to add a few things I want Jesse to know and the whole world to see.................................

                                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of this posting is just a letter written from the heart of a very happy Great Grandma, just for my precious little Jesse James, with the great big beautiful smile..............................................
You make me as happy as
"Winne the Pooh"
Books, Books, Books.............
Today I want to say something about books.  Living with my daughter Jennifer, there is no avoiding them, I am surrounded by books.  Jennifer loves books of all kinds.......
 she dreams about them............................................
And she has them all over every surface in the house...
Not in a formal like setting as formal bookcase....................
 My daughter is unique...she has some in floor to ceiling
bookcases that her husband, Steve, was finally forced to
build in the living room, just to try to bring some order to
this library of Jennifer's.  She inherited the love of books
from me, yes, I admit it, I am guilty to an extent, but I
did not, I say did NOT, teach her to want every book she
sees.  LOL!  That she did all by herself.  If Jenny had her way
she would have bookcases for every occasion.  She is a true
out and out 'bookworm'..........................................................
Even down to the flashlight in her hand...seriously I caught
her in bed in the middle of the night with a flashlight trying
to lay down and read all at the same time in the middle of the night....I won't tell you why I was up at that time of night, that's another story in itself.  If Jennifer sees this following
bookcase she will prolly want it along with a few others.......
 Now isn't that clever?  A bed to surround your books and
handy if you want to lay down and read   LOL!  Now she is
very astute in her book purchases...she doesn't...................
 Break the bank to get her books...she gets most free (which
is the best) from the library, and gets books she is missing from different series at second hand book stores or even
belongs to several on line groups where the bookaholics trade with each other...pretty smart, huh?  Needless to say this house is stacked to the rafters with her books.....................
Now if there were a way to win books by playing Bingo, I'm
sure that she would be taking me to play at least once a week.
But, that is my dream...did you guess that I love Bingo too...
LOL!  If there was a practical way to make an expanding
bookcase, I'm sure we would have one here, remember I said
practical...................................................................................
I came across a bookcase that would have been perfect for
our home state of California...it cleverly pre-unsorts your books for you in case of an earthquake (LOL!)..............
Been there, done that, as they say......also found one that would just be perfect for babysitting....................................
OOPS! .......teach 'em early, teach 'em well, the love of books.
If you are in a 'Zen" kinda frame of mind, here is the perfect
bookcase for you.....................................................................
 So, all in all, just read a good book.  It doesn't matter where you keep it or how you save your place.................................
 Just remember to love what you do and do what you love!
Have a great day......I know Jenny is going to and will probably finish another great novel today!.............................
"The wise old owl sat on an Oak
The more he saw, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we be like that old bird!"
~unknown~
**********************************
I just received the following bits of wisdom
from a friend of mine.  I wanted to share it
with anyone who cares to read it, or just
save it for myself.  These are so very true
and made me start my day off with a smile.
Simple Truth #1
~~~~~~~~~~~
Partners help each other undress before sex.
However after sex, they always dress on their own.

Moral of the story:  In life, no one helps you
once you've been screwed.

Simple Truth #2
~~~~~~~~~~~
When a lady is pregnant, all her friends touch her stomach and say "Congratulations".
But none of them come touch the man's penis
and say "Good Job!"
Moral of the story: Hard work is never appreciated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A man came to visit his grandparents, and noticed his grandfather sitting on the porch in the rocking chair wearing only a shirt, with nothing on from the waist down.

'Grandpa, what are you doing? Your weenie is out in the wind for everybody to see!' he exclaimed.

The old man looked off in the distance without answering.

'Grandpa, what are you doing sitting out here with nothing on below the waist?' he asked again.

The old man slowly looked at him and said,
'Well.....last week I sat out here with no shirt on and I got a stiff neck.  This is your Grandma's idea.'

FIVE RULES TO REMEMBER IN LIFE

1)  Money cannot buy happiness, but it's more comfortable to cry in a corvette than on a bicycle.

2)  Forgive your enemy, but remember the ass-hole's name.

3)  If you help someone when they're  in trouble they will remember you when they are in trouble again.

4)  Many people are alive only because it's illegal to shoot them.

5)  Alcohol does not solve problems, but then neither does milk.

My thoughts for the day........have a good one!

My Eeyore Moments

This morning I awoke to a second day of anxiety, and
related to my ever favorite buddy, Eeyore.  I just thought it might be nice to write down some of my thoughts in hope that they will disappear wherever
those things go!  That in fact has worked for me before....to get it out of the hidden crevices of my mind, lurking to attack me at any weak moment...(LOL!  I sure hope that doesn't make me certifiable).  Anyway I have found in the past that sometimes just the physical act of writing a problem down seems to put it in proportion...which is usually all I need to see it correctly.  I don't have any specific problem or worry at the moment.........................

  But try telling that to my over active brain!  Wish I knew what brings these days/nights on....................................

Just like our friend Charlie Brown lying in bed at night hoping for a restful nights sleep the worry monster creeps up on me and makes me start trying to find something to worry about, preferably something I can solve by worry...LOL!  It seems to be a never ending circle, as when you can't pin something specific down then you wonder and worry "why can't I get the detail?"  Sometimes if you dress it up and try to pretend that there is nothing wrong....................................................
You just wind up looking silly...to yourself and others!  But at least you tried.  Then start positive
thinking.......................................................

Viola!  Eureka!  The answer is right in front of your face...you just have to face it!  There is definitely something to be said about positive affirmations.  I used to look for them more often when I belonged to my "Kindness" group on Eons.  I spent a good 6 years there and got support from many of my friends I made from all over the world.  Maybe that is what is going on today...I am missing all of that positive interaction.  Hmmm, something better to spend my 'mind time' on.

I will end this mornings blog with this reminder..................................

The Starfish
~~~~~~~~~
Every little thing we do makes a difference. No matter how small it seems, it could be huge to someone else.
Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached, he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded
on the sand as the result of the natural action of
the tide.
The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached, the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.
As he came up to the person, he said: "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and picked up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean.
He turned back to the man and said: "It sure made a difference to that one."
WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.
Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.
Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.
Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.
And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.
Gnomes
I suppose it is an appropriate time for me to tell you why my blog is named "Gnome Place Like Gnome".
I have always loved the 'wee folks'...fairy, Gnome, unicorn and all other fanciful creatures.  So, to me coming
to this blog is like gnome!  I want to feel comfortable enuf here to express my opinions about a multitude of things that go thru my mind.  Not necessarily all of it related to the wee folks.  Sometimes tho this crazy old world we inhabit gets to be a bit depressive and then I like to be able to revert to my fun place where anything and all things good are possible.
My wee folk tend to be mischievious and just overall full of fun, as follows..............................................
There is also a Gnome in my group that tends to be a bit 'naughty' at times.  his name is Phineas.............
Then there are his cousins who are a bit sneaky.......................................................................................
Well, enuf for now, I have to get back to the real world for awhile....see ya!...........................................
