There has been a lingering question about "How close was Cleopatra to her Asp?".
So I thought we might explore that here.
Cleo as we all know was a queen...........
Well not exactly like that, but you get the picture. She was Egyptian and looked more like this.................................
Naturally being a queen and all, she got every little thing her heart desired, but she was lonely, laying around demanding all sorts of regular stuff...............................
At some point she decided that she wanted to have a pet...she had heard someone in another country had a pet ass.........................
And she thought .."what a wonderful idea"...so she so ordered her minions to obtain one for her. Her longtime servant was kinda old and hard of hearing so he brought her what he thought she wanted...an asp...................................................................
Being the kind hearted queen that she was, she said to herself "well, let's just try this out and see if it works. If it was good enuf for Eve in the Garden of Eden, well, then it should be good enuf for her.....................................................................................
They became best of friends and actually went everywhere together. Everyone remarked that they were like the proverbial
two peas in a pod......................................................
and looked like they were the best of......................................
One day it became apparent that they were indeed..................
And Cleo's asp..................................................................
Turned into her worst enemy and bit her were it hurt the most....................................................................................
Cleopatra learned the hard way not to trust her best friends or let them get close to her busom. Her trusted (?) long time servant had her laid to rest in regal style..........
I have been trying to figure out the moral to this story but
obviously there isn't one!.........
except of course watch your
asp at all times. The End
